Our theme this summer is MOVE. God desires for us to be a reflection of Him in our world. This calling should MOVE us to be concerned for the lost in our world. It should MOVE us to look at our world and seek to meet their needs. It should MOVE us to share our story of how Jesus changed our lives and allow God to work through us as we share our story.
We have many resources and great opportunities. Why are we not using them? God wants us to MOVE into our world. Our friends and family need Jesus and we cannot afford to be selfish with our faith any longer. Unfortunately our culture tricks us in to thinking, “Oh that’s what you believe. Don’t force your beliefs on me.” We hear these statements every day. It’s time for a group of believers to rise up and say, “Jesus is what you need, and I’m going to show you by my life and my actions.”
When believers begin to live like Christ in their homes, school’s and work places, two things happen. First, the example of Jesus is displayed to all and second, we allow God to work through us into the lives of those we come in contact with. It takes action on our part. It requires obedience to God’s Word and it means that our Faith must MOVE.
No more sitting on the couch watching “Lost” or “Glee.” Those days are over. We must MOVE ourselves to the position of taking our faith to the world. Allowing God to work through us. Students that have faith are out living the adventure of faith. They are moving in to their world and putting their faith in action.
“Because if you want to MOVE, you got to have faith. And to have faith you got to MOVE.”

To MOVE requires, OBEDIENCE, ACTION & FAITH.

150 Shoe Campaign begins tonight!

Beginning this Wednesday night we are entering a campaign to gather 150 pairs of tennis shoes for "We Will Go" Ministries in Jackson MS. Jordy and I went to "We will Go" last May and had an incredible opportunity to meet with the leadership of this extraordinary ministry. As we talked with the leadership that day, Jordy and I felt extremely compelled to use the resources of this ministry to meet the real practical needs of the homeless men and women that come in and out of the doors of this ministry. One of the needs that they brought to our attention was the need for tennis shoes. Not shoes with holes in them, but good, practically new tennis shoes.

So, this wednesday night I will be calling our students to begin this new campaign. From now till July 25th we are collecting tennis shoes. Not sandals, dress shoes or flip flops. Tennis shoes. Newer the better. Tonight I will call the students to give up their own shoes. (Some of your kids are going to come home bare footed. Just wanted to give you a heads up.) The call to sacrifice for the needy and poor is a calling from the Lord that we need to take seriously. So, bring your best pair of tennis shoes!

Our goal is to collect 150 pairs of shoes by July 25th. There is a collection box in the Big Room of the student center. We will keep a running total of how shoes we've collect.

On Sunday July 25, we will be going to "We Will Go" Ministries in Jackson for their church service to deliver the shoes. We'll leave immediately after our 11:00am service. Their church service begins at 3pm. During this 3pm service we will hand-deliver these shoes to the homeless in Jackson. All students are encouraged to come with us. We might have to carpool getting there but I feel that it is important for our students to MOVE in this area of practical sacrifice.

Will you join us?

Steve, Jordy & Vince
